Nganjo Footwear Australia is based in Fremantle, Western Australia, where the river meets the sea. "Freo" is 20 minutes south of Perth, the capital of WA and the 'most isolated city in the world'.
Nganjo sheepskin footwear and products has its origins in the Aussie ugg boot - generic for boots made of sheepskin with the fleece inside. Ugg boots are also known as ug boots or ugh boots.

Nganjo (pr. "nanjo") comes form "jinna nganjo" - an Aboriginal word of the Noongar people for European boot / shoe.
